In a new public-service announcement, the ‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe introduces Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth in crisis.

“If you’re feeling helpless or hopeless, there’s always a safe place to turn,”

Anyone can call the organization’s number — (866) 4-U-TREVOR — for free and confidential support. “You can talk to someone 24 hours a day,” the actor says in the PSA.

Although heterosexual, Radcliffe has often shown his support of LGBT community initiatives and denounced anti-gay bigots.
